Away for a few days walking with my dad. Sources of guidance we used, in order of reliability…
– A compass.
– A map.
– Local people.
– Sign posts.
– Guide’s written instructions.
– My dad’s sense of direction.
– My sense of direction.
One alone probably wouldn’t have got us where we needed to go.
Two or three, particularly of the top ones, in agreement was a very good indicator.
One of the top ones ‘saying no’ was a good sign to turn back.
My own sense of direction felt so right but was an objectively poor guide.
Multiple sources, given different weight according to their objectivity. Disciple, you can get to where you need to go.
