Where do you hide?

When it’s all hitting the fan?

When the enemy around you is too big, too fierce to confront head on?

A box-set binge?

Comfort eating?

A good ol’ gossip?

The day dream fantasy of being in another place, living another life?

Rehearsing your achievements, puffing up your pride?

Yet another lap of the social media track?

Part of the process of discipleship is that over time we frequent with less regularity ‘hiding places’ that are actually strongholds of our enemy, and often worse for us than that which we’re hiding from.

The disciple beats an increasingly well-worn path to the presence of the Lord in times of trouble.  Truths like, “The Lord is my strength and shield” become heart realities rather than poster platitudes.  We learn the hard skill of ‘encouraging ourselves in the Lord’. This is possible and available to you.

Disciple, do you need to switch hiding places this weekend?
