The Bible and history are fairly emphatic: fortunes change.
Kingdoms rise, and they fall.
Kings can be imprisoned, and prisoners can rise to be king.
Mountains are made low, and valleys are raised up.
Lives can have second (and third, and fourth…) acts.
Yahweh brings reckonings, and He delights in restoring fortunes.
Disciples increasingly trust the Lord that the overall narrative of their life will shine with His goodness, even as they endure a dark chapter (or several).
It’s not the end yet.
