A very, very small percentage of those athletes who ended up with a podium finish at Rio, were those who, in addition to their training, talent and team, had a very lucky run up to Rio. The wind was at their back, the stars aligned for them, and life went even better than they could have planned.
The overwhelming majority of those medal winners though, were there because, in addition to their training, talent and team, they were the best at dealing with setbacks. Significant setbacks that felt at the time like they were going to overwhelm them. Yet they found a way to overcome them, and in some instances even turn them into an advantage.
Disciple, “running to win” means coming through setbacks.
