In the Greek it’s in the present continuous imperative. We don’t quite have a structure to convey it in English.
For non-grammar geeks, think of how sports team speak to each other on the pitch…
“Stick with him!”
There’s an urgency. They want each other to take immediate action. They don’t just want their team mate to perform their action once, but to go on with the action as long as is necessary until the desired outcome is achieved.
