A marathon is a very simple race.
Put one foot in front of the other until the finish line. A child can grasp the concept.
It isn’t, though, easy. Planning, training, adjustments to diet are necessary. Reading the wisdom of those who’ve gone before may be helpful. Whilst only you can run the race, you’ll need to pull some sort of team around you – at least for encouragement, if not for accountability. Emotional resolve will be called upon km 36 through 40, and actually multiple times before that. You’ll run distances you’ve not run before. You go on, though so much within you cries out, ‘I can’t go on’. At times it feels impossible, that the finish line will never arrive.
