Gillett & Brims Podcast 03

Gillett and Brims podcast_03

Here’s episode three of our podcast.  Pushing on prayer!

We bounced off from this verse, Colossians 4:12:

“Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.”

Question of the episode:

“What advice do you give to the person who says, ‘I’m struggling to pray, but I’d like to’?”

If you missed the first two – episode one is here; episode two is here.

  1. I visited the Isle of Wight one weekend on my own and attended a church, not sure of the denomination. The pastor said, or I conjured it up, that to help us remember to pray we could set alarms on our watches. What a great idea. I did that immediately, setting alarms for 9 am, noon, and 6 pm. This helped me to start the work day in the right frame of mind, reset my mindset during the day, then regroup again after work. This was a great means of praising God, but also asking for intercessions in order for me to be a good disciple of God.

In years past, I kept a Bible on my desk at work and would keep the key to my desk in it so every morning I was compelled to open the Bible to retrieve my key, which reminded me to pray.

As I write this, I am setting the alarm on my phone for 9, noon, and 6 pm. Thanks for the motivation!
